CARDANOL NOVOLAC RESIN

Paladin’s CPN-3002 series are a cardanol based high bio-content phenolic resins that can be formulated as epoxy crosslinkers in long pot life, heat-cured systems. This class of low and high viscosity Novolac is high in functionality and equivalent weight. Formulator can achieve excellent moisture and chemical resistance, and improved wetting properties and adhesion to Composites parts.

Paladin’s Novolac have very good miscibility with epoxy resins and could be alternatives to or used in combination with petroleum based phenolic resins depending on the system. Epoxy resin does not react with Novolac at room temperature but crosslinks at 80-120°C in presence of a catalyst such as imidazole, or Lewis acids. Paladins CPN-3002 series can be used in one or two component epoxy formulations.
